The Kazakhstan Center for Certification of Railway Transport offers expert services in the field of railway transport through technical expertise, the development of standardization documents (GOST, ST RK), and participation in expert and working groups.
Technical expertise focuses on identifying defects in rolling stock or railway tracks, assessing the technical condition of various devices and systems, ensuring responsible individuals comply with train operation rules, and analyzing locomotive and/or wagon accident outcomes, followed by issuing conclusions on the causes of malfunctions, maintenance and repair violations, and the presence of manufacturing and operational defects.
During technical expertise, the examination of railway tracks, quality of manufacturing and repairing rolling stock parts, including wheelsets and bogie cast parts, as well as the quality of upper railway track structure parts, is conducted according to current GOST standards and other regulatory technical documents, with research performed in KazCCT's own accredited Testing Center. This includes determining the chemical composition of metal, mechanical properties of the tested part, node, macrostructure, and microstructure of the metal.
The Kazakhstan Center for Certification of Railway Transport also develops standardization documents, leveraging the expertise and qualifications of its specialists. In 2017, KazCCT developed the interstate standard GOST 34302-2017 "Articulated Passenger Trainsets Formed from Locomotive-Hauled Coaches with Pneumatic Suspension and Tilting Systems. General Technical Requirements," which sets requirements for Talgo-type trains. Currently, KazCCT is independently developing a package of state standards ST RK "Railway Rolling Stock. Permissible Impact Norms on the Railway Track and Test Methods," ST RK "Test Sections of the Railway Track for Railway Rolling Stock and Infrastructure Objects. General Technical Conditions," and ST RK "Railway Track Joints and Crossings. Dynamic Strength Testing Methodology."
The Kazakhstan Center for Certification of Railway Transport actively participates in working and expert groups to discuss the development of standardization documents, technical regulations, and amendments within the Eurasian Economic Union, the Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and JSC "NC "KTZ.""
